The Concept

I worked on this hairstyle using XGen Core in Maya.
All the colors and node setup are fully procedural and can be changed in one place in a very simple global setup.

I manually sculpted the XGEN guides under one XGEN description including the hair buns to get this detailed CGI stylized hair render.

The idea of making it under one description is to simplify the workflow for the artists, and make editing the hairstyle much easier to match the art director's note.

This is would be the first step of making a CGI hair, after achieving this results, you can start breaking the hairstyle into groups to work on detailed and lighting to achieve more realistic Stylized hairstyles.
