The "Great Wall of ZBrush" is Gone. Now the Real Work Begins.
I'm still processing the new ZBrush UI. After 6+ years of muscle memory, it's a huge shift.
My LinkedIn post was about the... ... initial 'shock,' but what does this really mean for us as artists?
It means the 'technical' excuse is gone. For decades, you could blame the UI. It was cryptic, a filter.
Now, the tool is accessible. It's no longer a "badge of honor" to know it, but a "gateway" for everyone.
This is the great equalizer. The new UI won't teach you anatomy. It won't teach you form. It won't teach you how to tell a story.
This update doesn't make you a better artist. It just removes the friction to becoming one. The focus is 100% back on what made ZBrush great in the first place: the art.
The tool is no longer the test. The artist is. And that means the 'boring' fundamentals are the only thing that will make you stand out.
